◈ Coming Soon — Not Yet Live

Story Mode in MainQuest

Three factions, one week at a time. Here's what's built, before it ships.

What Is Story Mode?

Story Mode is a built-but-unreleased narrative layer — a weekly, faction-based storyline that runs alongside your daily play. It does not exist in the app yet.

Not Live Yet

Nothing on this page is something you can go do in MainQuest today. This is a preview of the plan — confirmed details are marked as such; anything else is speculation and has been left out rather than invented.

The built shape: pick a Faction for the week, read that faction's own pre-written chapter, and contribute to a collective faction-vs-faction progress race running underneath.

The Three Factions (Built)

Three real Factions are built, each a division with its own identity, color, and weekly storyline:

Bio-Analytics

“Uncover the secrets of life.” Its seeded opening chapter, The Awakening Rite, leans into research and learning.

Engineering

“Build the future.” Its opening chapter, The Machine Uprising, leans into building, fixing, and organizing.

Prospecting

“Discover hidden treasures.” Its opening chapter, The Hidden Vein, leans into exploration and adventure.

Choosing one is free to change week to week — there's no loyalty bonus and no defection penalty. Selection itself is wired as a Pro action.

The Faction Selection Window (Planned)

The confirmed plan is a Monday through Wednesday selection window each week — matching the same window already stated on MainQuest's Weekly Story preview page.

Built weekly timeline:

  • Monday–Wednesday: Faction selection window open. Your pick locks the moment you make it — it cannot be undone that week.
  • Thursday–Sunday: No picking at all — if you missed the window, you sit the week out.
  • All week: Your faction's pre-written chapter is there to read; the faction-war meter ticks underneath.

None of this is active today — there is no selection screen to open yet.

The Faction War (Built, Awaiting Fuel)

The chapters themselves are pre-written — each faction gets its own story for the week, authored in advance. Your choice decides which of the three stories you experience, not how it ends.

The competitive layer underneath is a collective faction-vs-faction progress race: each faction has a shared weekly meter climbing toward a threshold, fed by its members together. The meter is built; the mechanism that feeds it — the part that would let your quests and habits push your faction forward — is still being wired up. That's the piece to watch for at launch.

What to Watch For

No release date has been announced for Story Mode. The most reliable way to know when it ships:

  • Check the MainQuest roadmap — Story Mode is listed there as in development, alongside other unshipped features.
  • Watch for an update to this guide — it gets corrected the moment real mechanics ship, the same way it was corrected to remove placeholder content that never existed.

Until then, the fastest way to make progress that actually counts is the system that already exists: Quests, Habits, and Daily Rhythm.

Tips

  • This feature does not exist in the app yet — nothing here is something you can do today.
  • Built: three real Factions — Bio-Analytics, Engineering, and Prospecting — each with its own weekly chapter.
  • Built: a Monday–Wednesday window to pick your Faction; the pick locks the moment you make it.
  • Built underneath: a collective faction-war progress meter racing toward a weekly threshold — what feeds it is still being wired up.
  • Check the MainQuest roadmap for the current status — this guide will update the moment that changes.
