Spend What You Earned

Embercoin isn't just a number going up. It buys real consumables — and pet eggs.

What the Shop Is

The Shop is MainQuest's system-run store. It sells a small, fixed lineup of consumables and pet eggs for Embercoin — the currency you earn by playing: a flat 10 per habit check-in, a bonus for 5-star quest ratings, 150 at signup — never something you buy with real money.

It's buy-only. If you want to sell something to fund a purchase, that happens at your Vault, not in the Shop itself.

…and many more items to be discovered.

A Fixed Lineup, Not a Rotation

Unlike a lot of gacha-style shops, the Shop's lineup doesn't rotate on a schedule — it's the same items every time you open it. The list only grows when the developers add a new item to the game (it went from 4 consumables to 7 items total the day pet eggs were added). There's no reason to "check back" hoping for something new to appear.

If you can't afford something you want, sell items you don't need from your Vault to make room in your budget — that's a separate screen from the Shop, not a button inside it.

The Wandering Merchant

The real rotation lives somewhere else entirely: the Wandering Merchant, a map-based visitor with a genuine daily schedule — different stock (and a different location) each day of the week. Unlike the Shop, you have to actually walk to where they are; there's no browsing their stall from anywhere on the map.

Mirror Shard
A free avatar edit — never in the Shop. You get one in your starter bundle; more only from the Merchant's rotation.

One honest caveat: the Wandering Merchant lives on MainQuest's map feature, which isn't turned on for players yet. The mechanic above is real and built — it just isn't something you can go find today.

Embercoin: Earned, Never Bought

There's no coin pack, no "buy Embercoin" button anywhere in MainQuest. The only way to get it is by playing — habit check-ins, 5-star quest ratings, and the rest of the loop. Every purchase in the Shop is a direct reflection of real progress, not a payment.

Two Rules Before You Buy

Pet eggs are a Pro perk. The eggs sit in the Shop for everyone to see, but buying one requires a Pro plan — the same gate as the whole pet system. Your Embercoin balance isn't the only requirement.

A full Vault blocks the purchase. If your Vault is at capacity, the Shop refuses the sale before charging you a single coin — sell or use something to free a slot, then try again. This is the most common reason a purchase "doesn't work."

Shop vs. Marketplace

The Shop is a live, system-run store — you're buying from MainQuest, not from other players. Trading items directly with other players is a separate concept (the Marketplace) that isn't built yet.

Tips

  • Sell items you don't need from your Vault to fund purchases you actually want — not from the Shop itself.
  • The Shop's lineup only grows when new items get added to the game, not on a schedule — no need to check back daily.
  • Embercoin only comes from playing, so treat every purchase as a reflection of real progress.
  • The Wandering Merchant is where the real rotation lives — once the map feature unlocks for you.
