Achievements
Milestones that celebrate your real-world progress.
What Are Achievements?
Achievements are milestone rewards you unlock by reaching specific goals in MainQuest. They track your overall progress and reward you for consistency, exploration, and growth across every feature.
Unlike quests (which you create) or habits (which you check in on daily), achievements are system-defined goals that you work toward passively as you use the app.
Five Achievement Categories
Underneath, achievements are organized into 5 categories:
Quests
Milestones for completing quests — total quests finished, and higher-count milestones like completing 50.
Streaks
Milestones for consecutive-day streaks, like maintaining a 7-day streak.
Skills
Milestones for the Skill system, like creating your first skill.
Exploration
Milestones for trying different parts of the app, like adding your first friend.
Special
Everything else — level milestones like reaching level 10, reviving a friend, and other one-off moments.
On web, you won't actually see these 5 category labels — the Reliquary groups relics into 10 Constellation Arms instead (Foundation, Vigil, Reckoning, Quest, Wandering, Mastery, Return, Bond, Tribute, and Gauntlet). Same underlying achievements, different browsing structure.
Unlock Conditions
Each achievement has a specific unlock condition that you must meet. These range from simple (complete your first quest) to ambitious (complete 50 quests).
Real unlock conditions:
- First Steps (Quests): Complete your first quest — +25 XP
- Dedicated Hero (Streaks): Maintain a 7-day streak — +75 XP
- Rising Power (Special): Reach level 10 — +100 XP
- Friendly Face (Exploration): Add your first friend — +20 XP and a Relic
- Quest Master (Quests): Complete 50 quests — +100 XP
Locked achievements show their full name, description, and condition on mobile — nothing is obscured until you unlock it.
Rewards
Unlocking an achievement grants:
- XP: Awarded immediately, and exempt from the daily XP cap — it's a genuine bonus even on a maxed-out day
- A Relic: A display-only collectible with a rarity tier (common, rare, storied, singular), shown in your Reliquary — separate from your regular inventory. It doesn't take up a slot and isn't equipment.
Some achievements also carry a title, shown as flavor text in the unlock notification — that's separate from the equippable profile titles you buy or earn as inventory items.
Tracking Your Progress
Where you check progress depends on the platform:
- Mobile: Open the Achievements screen from your hero menu. Filter by category and see each achievement's condition, reward, and locked/unlocked state, plus an overall unlocked count.
- Web: Open the Reliquary. Relics are grouped into 10 Constellation Arms, each with its own progress bar. A locked relic shows only as "Sealed" — its name and description stay hidden until you unlock it.
Achievement Strategy
The best strategy is to play naturally and let achievements come to you. However, if you want to actively pursue them:
- Check the Achievements screen (or Reliquary) weekly to see what you are close to unlocking
- Focus on streaks — they unlock some of the most rewarding achievements
- Try new parts of the app, like adding a friend or creating a skill, to pick up Exploration and Skills achievements
- Keep completing quests — count-based milestones like 50 completed quests stack up naturally
