Shatter
Paralysis

When the mountain looks too high to climb, break it into pebbles.

The Psychology

"Clean the Bedroom" is scary. "Pick up one sock" is easy.

On web, MainQuest formalizes this with Quick-Add — type a name, hit Enter, and it lands on your list at Easy tier automatically: no difficulty prompt, no objectives, just the small stuff (errands, replies, reminders) that a real quest would be overkill for. On mobile, the same small tasks go through the regular quest form instead. Each one still pays real XP, and stacking up a handful of them is exactly what a Surge is for — clear the whole pile in one sweep. This tricks your brain into starting by lowering the barrier to entry to near zero.

The Lightning Round

Once you hit "Start Surge", the interface changes. No distractions, no edit buttons — just a countdown timer, your remaining targets, and a tap to check off each one as you clear it.
